Description:
|
This sky-blue flower vase imitates ancient bronze, and is shaped like a spittoon. It has five perforations on the bottoms and a short foot ring. The exterior walls are coated with a thick, glittering sky-blue glaze down to the foot. The foot is neatly trimmed and covered with a protective stain, and the base is inscribed with the Chinese character, er, meaning two.Jun wares are inscribed with numbers from one to ten, where a smaller number denotes a larger ware, and vice versa. Hence, the number, two, inscribed on the base of this sky-blue flower vase shows that it is a large Jun ware.
