Description:
A Ruyi with three inlays and a cloud-styled head. On the four positions of the head, each is decorated with a lotus flower. These flowers are formed by the green-feathered design, which is a decorative design that first applies a pre-made latticed platform of desired shape onto the piece and then fills the lattices with green feathers or enamels to imitate feather-work, and other ornaments to approximate desired patterns. The center is inlaid with jade Buddhist hands (a kind of citric tangerine that resembles the shape of a human hand and thus called Buddhist hand), red crystal peach, turquoise (or turkey-stone) and agate leaves. The stem bulges in the middle and holds an elliptical inlay composed of sapphire and red-jade fruit, jade butterfly, agate and turquoise leaves, and jade stems. The background of the inlay is decorated with a drifting cloud pattern in green-feathered style. The upper part of the stem is decorated with the shou character (which means long-life) in green-feathered style. On the sides, there are drifting cloud and winding branches, also made in green-feathered style. The tip is round and inlaid with jade pomegranate, azure-stone and turquoise slabs of leaves, and amber branches. Rims on the head and the sides of the stem.
