Description:
A Ruyi with three jade inlays. The elliptical white jade inlaid on the head is embossed with bamboo leaves and a butterfly. The Chinese character of "bamboo" and "butterfly" are phonetically the same as the character "wishes," and thus the picture symbolizes wishing. The stem slightly bulges in the center and inlaid with a long elliptical white jade embossed with the aster plant. The upper part of the stem has carved gold-inlaid inscription of "imperial" in Li-shu (square-plain style). The lower part of the stem has a carved inscription of a two-line doublet, "To command at the will of hands is a satisfaction. To polish and perfect at the will of heart is a delight." The tip is inlaid with an elliptical white jade embossed with an Evergreen plant. The back is blank, but the rim is slightly protruded to form a border. The tip is attached with a pair of brown-green tassels, a decorative knot, and three glass beads.
