Description:
This single-handled washer is round and shallow, and it has a flat base. The rim is thin, and it is decorated with a flange in the shape of a new moon, below which is a loop-ear. This shape is derived from gold and silverware. The clay body is evenly thick, and it is coated with a sky-blue glaze, which is characterized by the pale grayish blue color. Tiny perforations fill in the areas where the glaze pools; the glaze runs thin on the rim, and it appears brownish yellow. This pale grayish blue glaze, which has a texture that is akin to Jun and Ru glazes, is a very special type among Jun-affiliated kilns.
