Description:
|
This flask has a small mouth, a straight neck, a sloping shoulder, a flattened and round body, a countersunk base, and two bow-like ruyi handles affixed to the neck. The neck is adorned with banana leaves, which are bounded by seven lines. Both the shoulder and the base are painted with a band of lotus petals, thereby framing the landscape scene on the body. On one side there are three people, but there are two on the other. Each figure holds a musical instrument, rejoicing in dance and song. The musicians' appearance and clothing suggest a different culture from the Han Chinese.
