Description:
|
This stembowl has a flared rim, deep rounded sides, and an elongated foot. The interior is incised with two five-clawed dragons and cloud. The exterior is plain. The walls are even in thinness, but the base and the foot are thick. Yongle white glaze is white and unctuous regardless of the thickness of the porcelain body, and it earns the title, "sweet-white" glaze. Monochromes such as white glazed and red glazed bowls and cups often contain incised motifs on the interior walls, and the double dragons is a popular motif.
