Description:
|
This beautiful and elegant jade goblet is carved of translucent greenish white jade. The form approximates a slender cone, and it has a high foot and one handle. Between the rim and the foot are five decorative bands encircling the goblet, and they are carved with different kinds of cloud and floral motifs in low relief. At the rim, the outer portion of the handle, the high foot, and the lower abdominal region are stained green by contacts with copper mounting, and the green stain at the rim shows a blue tinge as well.
