Description:
Made of green nephrite, the stemcup is a top-heavy cylinder in shape, and its foot is rather short. There are four decorative bands on the exterior walls: the top represents a string, the second resembles two dragons and a phoenix, the third shows interlocking cloud motif, and the bottom are petals facing up. In between the petals are curling cloud patterns, which are also used to embellish the foot. The base is carved with persimmon leaves in relief. The interior walls are inscribed with a poem entitled "On two Han jade stemcups," composed by the Qianlong emperor in the 54th year of his reign.
