Description:
|
The jade artisans made this archaistic jade ding under the encouragement of the Qianlong emperor. It is made of nephrite mined in Hetian, Xinjiang province. The design features upright handles, pillar feet, and spine-shaped corner edges. The exterior walls and the top end of the feet are carved with animal motifs in low relief. The middle of the base indicates the reign mark, " imitation of the antique of the Qianlong era of the Great Qing".
