This painting is an ink monochrome landscape, and it does not have a signature. Sometime in the past, it was identified as Mountain Villa and attributed to Li Gonglin. On the painting there are such labels as: the Discovering Truth Embankment, Lodge of Fragrant Reeds, Necklace Cliff, Chamber of Perching Clouds, Hut of Mysterious Completion, Cave of Extending Blossoms, Raining Blossoms Cliff, Lingling Valley, Jade Dragon Gorge, Guanyin Cliff, Suspended Cloud Bank, Ten Large Old Willows Surround, Three hundred paces south of the Lodge of Establishing Virtue, and Precious Blossom Cliff.* For the most part, the painting faithfully depicts the waters, rocks, grasses, and trees of the Li Gonglin's residence in the Longmian Mountains.
