Description:
A Ruyi with three inlays. The cloud-styled head is inlaid with a fresh green jade on which the pattern of cloud and dragon is embossed. The stem bulges in the middle and is inlaid with a rectangular jade with indented corners. The jade is embossed with lake pebbles, bamboo shrubs, and two badgers which symbolize "happy together." The tip is elliptical and has an inlay of a rectangular jade with indented corners. On the jade, a phoenix and a dragon are embossed. Each jade sits on an inlay-stand that is composed of two levels. The upper level on each stand is enchased with an auspicious pattern such as, 1) the three-stars map, 2) Magu offers a birthday wish, 3) pine tree with a crane (to symbolize longevity), and 4) fortune and emoluments patterns. The lower level is decorated with five-pedal flowers made of gold beads. The stem is decorated with a pattern of alternating bats and the character shou (which means longevity), and other ornamental objects such as gourds, lychees, mahogany tree and peaches. Rims on the stem are decorated with five-pedal flowers made of gold-beads.
